Grand Forks, N.D. — Wishek Community Hospital was recognized among the 20 highest ranked Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in the nation at the National Rural Health Association (NRHA) Rural Health Clinics and Critical Access Hospital Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, September 20. The determining factors for the top 20 CAHs are based on indicators of strength, including quality of care provided, patient outcomes, and financial stability as determined by iVantage Health Analytics.

Other North Dakota hospitals receiving Top 20 recognition included CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington, Linton Hospital, and Towner County Medical Center in Cando. Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier received the Best Practice Award in the category of quality, and First Care Health Center in Park River received the Best Practice Award in the category of patient satisfaction.

The NRHA is a national nonprofit organization with more than 21,000 members.
