The South Central Health Foundation has been formed to help provide the philanthropic and community resources needed to improve the health and welfare of the residents in the communities of our service area. Our primary focus is to provide funds to enhance the health care services and facilities for the direct benefit to residents in south central North Dakota and to improve the image of the institution as a community service-oriented organization.

The South Central Health Foundation is an eight-member board whose purpose is to promote fundraising in its service area.

The foundation’s base endowment fund holds more than $100,000, only the principal of which can be accessed to award grants to departments of the hospital. Grant awards are based upon need, availability of funds and adherence to the requirement that grant funding must provide direct benefit to patients.

The foundation hosts an annual fall fundraising gala. With generous support from the city of Wishek as well as the SCH service area and the local business community, this event is planned by the foundation board and attended by over 200 area residents. The upscale evening includes entertainment and a unique dining experience.
